Balayage Styles at Capelli Salon Frisco
Balayage means “to sweep.” Your colorist paints lightener by hand where the sun would naturally hit, softest at the root and brightest toward the ends, so it blends into your natural shade.

Caramel and Honey Balayage
Warm ribbons of caramel and honey on brown hair. Rich color that is easy to grow out.

Balayage on Dark Hair
Caramel, honey and bronze tones on dark brown and black hair. A big lift may be planned over two visits.

Face-Framing Balayage
Brightness placed around your face for a fresh look with less color. An easy first step into balayage.

Partial or Full Balayage
Partial lightens the top and sides; full adds dimension all over. See the comparison below.

Gloss and Toner Refresh

Partial vs Full Balayage: Which Should You Book?
These are the two balayage choices on our booking form. If you are unsure, pick the one closest to your goal and we will confirm it at your consultation.
| Partial balayage | Full balayage | |

| Where the color goes | The top layer, the part line and around your face | All over the head, including underneath and the back |
| The look | A soft, sun-kissed refresh | Brighter, more dimension from every angle |
| Best for | First-time balayage, a subtle change, or a refresh between full visits | A bigger change, or hair you often wear up or in a ponytail |
| Time in the chair | Shorter | Longer |
| Next visit | A gloss, or another partial when you want more brightness | A gloss or partial between full appointments |

Questions
Balayage Questions, Answered
Should I book partial or full balayage?
Choose partial if you want a soft refresh around your face and on top, or if it is your first balayage. Choose full if you want dimension all over, including when you wear your hair up. Not sure? Pick the closest one when you book and we will confirm it at your consultation.
How long does a balayage appointment take?
It depends on your length, your thickness and how much lightening you want. Most balayage visits take a few hours, and full balayage takes longer than partial. We give you a time estimate at your consultation.
How long does balayage last?
Because there is no hard line at the root, balayage grows out softly, and many clients go several months between full appointments. A gloss or toner between visits keeps the tone fresh.
Does balayage damage your hair?
Any lightening changes the hair, but balayage usually lightens less hair than a full head of foils. We check the condition of your hair first and give you a simple care routine for home.
Can you do balayage on dark hair?
Yes. Caramel, honey and bronze tones look beautiful on dark brown and black hair. If you want to go much lighter, we may plan it over two visits to keep your hair healthy.
What is the difference between balayage and highlights?
Balayage is painted by hand for a soft, natural blend. Highlights use foils for brighter, more even lift from the root. Read our guide to balayage vs highlights.
Do you do balayage for clients from Prosper, Plano and McKinney?
Yes. Our Frisco salon at 3311 Preston Rd, Suite 6 is an easy drive from Prosper, Plano, McKinney, Allen and The Colony. Get directions.
